West Virginia Named the Most Obese State in America

According to an analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), West Virginia was named the most obese state in America. The study claims that West Virginia has a 38% obese rate among adults.

Experts claim that this should not be surprising since West Virginia is among the highest rates of diabetes, hypertension and obesity-related cancers, according to Consumer Protect.

West Virginia was followed closely in the obesity rankings by Mississippi, Oklahoma, Iowa and Alabama.

With an obesity rating of 23 percent, Colorado is the least obese state. Colorado was followed by the District of Columbia, and the western states of Hawaii, California and Utah.
